A map made up of maps gives up both too much and too little information at the same time. A directive, a sign, an oracle; all need to be tempered with more information than they grant if they are to provide guidance, and without context can mislead and beguile without yielding any knowledge at all. An object of contemplation, a riddle, a hint, and wide to interpretation, a fragment in every sense.
