There have been ghost ships in Maritime Folklore for a long time. Like ships in a bottle, they exist in a realm discrete from ours, separate in time and place, traversing their world and periodically entangling themselves with ours to deliver messages, often to recipients who are long dead, forever re-enacting the sorrow that comes of being disjointed in time, lost, or displaced, but hopeful too, that the world may yet have more to tell us, may still have designs and intentions concerning us.
